Fluor Corporation is one of the largest engineering and construction companies in the world. When Fluor wanted to celebrate its 100-year anniversary, this Fortune 500 company awarded the largest event in its history to Watts. This, one of seven of the videos we created for the event, encapsulates Fluor’s notable 100-year history from its humble beginnings in 1912 to its centennial in 2012.
Celebrating 100 Years
On April 21, 2012 Fluor marked its 100-year anniversary with a two-hour global employee event that was satellite broadcast live from the Myerson Symphony Hall in Dallas to 14 locations across the globe. By maintaining constant and seamless client interaction over a two-year period, Watts developed the strategy, theme, and creative direction for the entire celebration. To document the enormity of the work and the people who make it possible, we scheduled a worldwide trip to visit project sites and/or offices across six continents. We utilized what we captured to create the content that played at the event, as well as content that we pushed out throughout the year leading up to it.

The centennial celebration featured: a construction ballet, videos of employees, projects, clients, and retirees; remarks by former Secretary of State Colin Powell; and a commissioned symphony performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Most importantly, the event emphasized Fluor’s commitment to its workforce, and united the audience with a sense of pride and belonging.
We’re proud to say that the centennial event won the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silver Anvil award.
PRSA is the largest professional organization serving the U.S. public relations community. The Silver Anvil is awarded annually to companies and organizations that achieve the highest levels of success, creativity and resourcefulness on public relations and communications campaigns.

To introduce CEO, David Seaton to the stage, we created A Day in the Life video documenting the diversity of Fluor’s global workforce and the immense scale of the company’s projects and services.
To highlight Fluor’s long-standing commitment to community service around the world, we were privileged to visit a pre-school in Secunda, South Africa that is supported by Fluor. Documenting this incredible place was a life-changing experience to say the least. In 2013 this film won a bronze Telly Award in the Internet video for social responsibility category.
